CP RETRACTED! OH YEAH THEY DID!
Click Image to EnlargeRemember THAT notorious article "Penguin of the Month" on page A6 & A7 in the March27 issue of Club Penguin Times? I'm sure e-v-e-r-y-o-n-e did!
Oh man! I mean, oh boy! I probably wont forget that until next year. Or maybe I will remember that prank every April Fool's Day for the rest of my life! ;-)
If Club Penguin did that practical joke OTHER THAN April Fool's Day, I might never forgive them. Good thing I have a healthy sense of humor and a gift for being able to laugh at myself. I couldn't say the same thing for the other penguins though.
A couple of penguin friends told me that THAT particular write-up caused a snowball war at the Plaza and at the Dojo. Apparently, everyone was 'claiming' to be THE Penguin of the Month. And, apparently, nobody would give up the title. So everyone was snowballing everyone. It was an 'individual' war. I wasn't like the regular/usual war at the Dojo where one would fight in team with others.
I'm guessing, CP saw their mistake and decided to retract the "Penguin of the Month" write-up for some damage control. If you play CP now and read the CP Times newspaper, you won't be seeing pages A6 & A7. So from A5, next page is B1 now.
In fairness to CP, I don't think they pulled a prank to 'intentionally' harm anybody. I think, what they were trying to say was that ALL OF US PENGUINS are special and that ALL OF US deserve to be "Penguin of the Month." It's just that they didn't consider that kids don't understand some adult ideas. No matter how smart we are, some things still need to be explained ;-)
