ANCIENT EGYPT IN CLUB PENGUIN
The new stage play "Quest for the Golden Puffle" got my interest. More than the amazing costumes and awesome stage effects, it triggered my curiosity on the History of Egypt. I've always had an inquisitive mind. Lord knows how many times I have gotten into trouble because of it! LOL! ;-)
Through Googling, I found my way to Wikipedia! There I found lots of infos about my 3 subjects: Queen Cleo, JC and King Tut. Is that pronounced as "Tat" or "Toot"? Might be "Toot" since the guy was Egyptian, not American or English. They have a different accent ;-)
I learned a lot about them. Everything is interesting! Some things are not even for kids! I'm gonna share with you just a teeny weeny bit of what I have read. The rest you have to read in Wiki ;-)
King Tutankhamun
He is King Tut in modern world. He will turn in his grave if he hears that! King Tut became the Pharaoh of Egypt in 1333BC at age 9! No kidding ;-) He was king until 1324BC at age 19! No, he was not dethroned, he DIED. Darn. Now, his death, up to this day, is still unclear. Some say he died of a Natural Death, some say he was MURDERED!!! Double Darn!
In 1922, after hmm... (let's do the math, 1324BC plus 1922AD is 3246 years!) .... after 3246 years, a certain archaeologist found his tomb TOTALLY intact! Triple Darn! The Mask above is actually the cover of his coffin. And the small picture below it is his picture. Remember, there were no cameras that time. That picture was a CT Scan of what he might have looked like at the time of his death. That controversial pic became the cover of National Geographic. 3246-year-old cover model! Ew! He scares me actually. Aaahhhhh! :-(
QUEEN CLEOPATRA
Queen Cleo was the one and only female Pharaoh in Egypt. Cleo became Queen in 51BC at age 18. She became the mistress of Julius Caesar (or JC), a military man. That's the guy next to her in the picture above. They had like 30-year-age gap. Cleo was 21 and JC was 50. They had only 1 son. Not long after JC died, she married Mark Anthony from whom she had 3 children.
Cleo reigned for 21 years until 30BC at age 39. Just like King Tut, She was NOT dethroned either. She killed herself by inducing a poisonous asp to bite her. OMG!!!
JULIUS CAESAR
Or JC as I call him LOL! ;-) JC was a very distinguished military man and political leader.
He played a critical role in the transformation of the Roman Republic into the Roman Empire (now that sounded so much like WIKI right there! LOL! ;-))
He was a dictator. NOT a baddy dictator. The Senate actually assigned him to be a Dictator for Life. Life was shuuuweet! ;-) But just like any other men of distinction, he had oppositions. That created problems for him. He reigned in Egypt until 44BC. And just like King Tut and Queen Cleo, JC was NOT dethroned either. LOL! He was assassinated by 60, as in sixty, men in a senate hearing. Oh man! And worse, one of his best friends, Brutus, was one of those 60. Oh man!!! If that isn't sweet turning sour, I don't know what is!
I don't know much about Ancient Egyptians but I do know 1 thing: they don't want to DIE OF A NATURAL DEATH! LOL! ;-)

CP obviously had King Tut in mind when they created the Pharaoh costumes!
Queen Cleo's most distinguishing feature was her Black Hair and Jewelry
I imagined JC to have looked like a Gladiator hence the Hair and the Cape

THE RIDDLE:
the Sphinx sat outside of Giza, Egypt and asked this riddle of all travelers who passed by. If the traveler failed to solve the riddle, then the Sphinx killed him/her. And if the traveler answered the riddle correctly, then the Sphinx would destroy herself. The riddle:
What goes on four legs in the morning, on two legs at noon, and on three legs in the evening?
Are you gonna get killed just like King Tut, Queen Cleo and JC? I hope not. ;-)

hey umm i was just wondering how do I make one of those things like you?? (the penguin thing in the top right corner where you can moth them in the bowl of ice) please tell me.
hi cg7mc7! heres what you should do.
1. choose an image for your background. the size should fit your bloggy. mine is 200width x 180 height.
2.upload the background image anywhere in the web. Me i uploaded it to uploadingit.com.
3.after uploading, get the image's DIRECT URL. right click and copy. do not close that window yet.
4. now go to abowman.com and find the penguins.
5. change the settings like how many adult and baby penguins you want, width and height should be the same as the background image you will use. etc
6. paste the DIRECT URL of the background image in one of the white boxes.
7. now, get the copy the HTML that abowman.com gives you.
8. goto your blog account and paste the HTML from abowman there.
thats it! ;-)
if you want my ice bucket with your name and penguin in there, email me your clear penguin player card and i will make one for you. you can email me using CONTACT US at the bottom of my Message Board.
